THE SALVATION ARMY ANGEL TREE PROGRAM

in response to jeffs girl...   your best bet is to locate your local salvation army, call them or just go there. Where do you live? I would be happy to try and find out contact info for your local Salvation Army.

Mother of 2 trying to keep a home for my children

Hi, my name is Diana,I live in Decatur, IL. I am the mother of a 7yr old boy and a 6yr old girl. This has been a hard year for many people. My family has had a rough year also. I have always done my best to provide for my family. Last year I was a manager in a fast food restaurant, not the best income in the world but it paid the bills. I decided to go back to school and try and get a degree so that I could give my kids a better life. Working 50+ hours a week, taking care of the children, and going to school proved to be too much. I went over my finances and figured out that with the help of my financial aid for school I could take a job as a waitress, meaning alot less hours and more time for my kids and school. Shortly after I switched jobs my financial aid fell through, leaving me unable to pay my bills. I lost my home and had to move. Now I am only getting 15 to 20 hours a week at my job. I am about 2 months behind on my rent, I have been giving my landlord as much as I can here and there, but I am terrified that their patients and understanding is going to run out soon, and my children and I will have to live in my car. I have signed up for the salvation army so that my children can atleast get something for Christmas. I would appreciate any ideas or assistance anyone can give me for keeping my home and giving my children a nice Christmas. Thank You, and God Bless
